2017 Summer Class and Workshop Calendar
You may view classes and workshops, organized by class or workshop and organized by category using the menu selections, i.e. Weekly Classes or Workshops and then selecting the area of interest.
What is the difference between the two prices listed for a class or workshop? The full price is for non-members and the discounted price is for CAC members.
What are the benefits of a membership? In addition to other benefits detailed on our Become a Member page, it entitles you to have a $30 discount for all classes or workshops you take in the year after you sign up for membership. Your membership is completely tax-deductible.
Do I have to purchase my own supplies for classes even though I paid a materials fee? The materials fee covers communal department expenses and varies with the class you take. These include easels, demonstration supplies that are used by the instructor, printed handouts, firing fees, gas for welding equipment and other equipment supplies. You will still need to bring your own personal art supplies as listed in your supply list or discussed the first day of class.
Do I need to purchase supplies for a workshop? Generally, all art supplies for workshops are provided. If you are asked to bring an item for the workshop, it will be detailed in the description online.
CAC has a limited number of scholarships each session for deserving students facing financial hardship. Although the materials fee is included, we are unable to provide scholarships any additional class supplies you may need. To apply for a scholarship for one session, please complete and sign the form here. Allow 2-3 weeks for your application to be reviewed.

Need something for that artsy person in your life, but have no idea what might peak their interest? With a gift certificate the recipient can choose their own class or workshop! You can also purchase yearly memberships as a gift. What could be better?
Register early. Classes will be cancelled if they do not meet the minimum enrollment three (3) business days prior to the start of a new session. CAC reserves the right to cancel, combine or reschedule any class. Instructors may alter the class schedule during a session to accommodate holidays. They will discuss any changes with each class.

CAC presents its 2017 Annual Juried Membership Exhibition on view at Mary Tomás Gallery in the Dallas Design District. The show opens on Saturday, August 5th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and closes on September 2nd.
CAC often hosts exhibitions for community groups or schools as well as hosting our own department shows. In the past, we have hosted art shows for organizations representing homeless people, senior living centers, schools and people with mental illnesses. Our objective is to provide community awareness of social issues in which art can make an impact. Coming this summer: Unseenamerica, a photography show featuring the work of our talented 2016-17 unseenamerica class from nearby Bayles Elementary as well as The Bridge's annual show "On the Street", featuring the art of homeless Dallas citizens.
CAC has a non-collecting exhibition space featuring four department exhibitions per year. Demonstrating the breadth and depth of our arts education programming, the exhibitions include work of teaching artists as well as students.

The Blue Plate Special is an exciting fundraiser centered around a silent auction featuring artist-designed ceramics plates that are paired with fantastic items such as gift certificates, tickets to events, merchandise and more.
Funds raised from this event support CAC and its outreach programs. We believe strongly that through the creative process we build stronger communities helping people re-imagine their world. Our current outreach programs: Camp MetalHead, unseenamerica, ArtAbility and Art as a Second Language allow challenged and underserved children, teens and adults to build their creative confidence, transforming lives along the way.
Thank you to our funders and sponsors who champion all that we do!
