STEVE ARMES
is a classically trained artist who teaches and practices the academic approach to drawing and painting. Steve is lifelong professional artist who is currently represented in five galleries. He was featured on the cover of American Artist Magazine in 2008. He believes that drawing is a skill that can be taught to anyone who is willing to learn, think and practice.

LYNN ARMSTRONG
is a Dallas native and a 1977 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 1977. In addition to teaching at CAC, she teaches ceramics to children and adults at Studio Arts and produces hand built ceramics at her home studio.

KATHERINE BARONET
is a Dallas painter and graphic designer most notably known for her Pink Alien series and other whimsical work. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, she has had a number of one person shows including Shamrock Studio, Cedar Arts Gallery, 2520 Fairmont and The Boyd Gallery. Katherine was selected for the D Magazine Art Slam at F.I.G. Her work is in public and private collections. For four years, Katherine worked with an outreach art program between Lakewood Elementary and Vickery Towers.

AWADH BARYOUM
has exhibited nationally and internationally. He was featured in Art Educates the World, an international art exhibition and auction at Sotheby’s New York in 2002 with Louise Bourgeois, Dale Chihuly, Chuck Close, Philip Glass, Wolf Kahn, Philip Pearlstein, Richard Serra, Frank Stella and other Fulbright recipient artists. His awards include Fulbright Scholarship, art residency fellowship grant from the Vermont Studio Center, the first place fine arts award from the ANA al-Arabi Festival in Washington D.C., SCAD’s 30th Anniversary exhibition award and Brooke Reeve, Jr. Painting Scholarship from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

EMMA BIGGS
is British mosaic artist and author. Her recent work includes Made in England, an internationally known, museum-based mosaic work. In addition to mosaic, she makes paintings with her husband, the arts broadcaster Matthew Colings. They are represented by the long-established gallery The Fine Art Society in London's Bond Street and have recently curated an exhibition of work by Picasso, shown in Basel, Switzerland and London, England.

MICHAEL BLACKWELL
is a photography instructor at the University of Texas at Dallas, member of the National Press Photographers Association, the Association of Texas Photographic Instructors, was named “Best in Dallas ” by the Observer magazine and received a Katie Award from the Dallas Press Club for Best Photographic Portfolio. His photography includes architectural, commercial, fine art and photojournalism. Michael’s photography continues to evolve and is centered on fine art black & white imagery and photojournalism.

JIM BOWMAN
has been a working artist since 1978 who works and teaches from his studio, Bowman Hot Glass, located in an 5,000 square foot artist's complex near downtown Dallas. Jim works in blown glass, as well as kiln worked glass, architectural leaded glass and mixed media sculptural projects. Jim creates autonomous artwork, as well as commissioned work for public art, corporate office, hospitality and medical spaces and residential projects.

SHANNON BRUNSKILL
has studied during the with world-renowned glass artists at Pittsburgh Glass Center, The Corning Museum of Glass, Haystack Mountain School of Craft, the Bullseye Resource Center and Pilchuck Glass School. Shannon has exhibited her work at the Bullseye Glass Gallery in Portland, Oregon, the Ft. Worth Community Arts Center, the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and the Galveston Arts Center. In 2010 she was the Bronze award winner in the E-merge exhibition at the Bullseye Gallery, an international exhibition of emerging glass artists. Additionally, she has been awarded the Termini Research Grant, Lynda and Ignacio Nunez Research in Glass Grant.

JILL ALLISON BRYAN

TOMAS BUSTOS
has great passion for his art. Accomplished in clay, stone and wood carving, Tomas’ 30 years professional experience has made him one of the area’s leading sculptors in the fields of fine and decorative arts. His work is in many private and public collections. His most recent public commission is on display at Our House at Baylor Medical Center. He also recently completed The Vaquerro with artist David Newton, which will be exhibited in the Stockyards in Fort Worth when it returns from the foundry.

JO CLAY
naturally creative, mud addict, Jo has been involved in the arts since babyhood. She studied music and art at IU, made a career in fashion, and now finds her passionate voice in clay. Her work consists of pieces that are hand-built and wheel-thrown for home and garden--created with heavy textures, bold glazes and shapes with a tinge of quirkiness. Along with teaching adults and children, she also takes part in Big Thought/Thriving Minds, an after-school enrichment program.

has been a professional clay artist for nearly 30 years. She also works with bronze and is an internationally known illustrator of children’s literature. MARY LYNN DEVEREUX-BOWMAN
has been fusing glass for 25 years. Also a painter, she uses glass in her work as a painter uses paint, thinking of the imagery first, not the just the fact that the material is glass. She has studied with Marvin Lapofsky, Claus Moje, Dick Weiss and Paul Marioni. She also studied at the Pilchuck School of Glass on a full scholarship. KATRINA DORAN
creates mosaic fine art for interior and exterior surfaces. Following her aesthete, she has explored architecture and design, psychology, costume design and entertainment - choosing to reside in the world of mosaic. Katrina has studied worldwide with modern mosaic masters and combines a traditional knowledge and respect for the art form with her uncanny eye for details and intuitive sense of design. Beware: her interest, enthusiasm and passion for the medium is contagious. Her professional memberships include the Society of American Mosaic Artists, the Texas Sculpture Association and the Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA). She is a current board member of the Texas Visual Artists Association (TVAA).

MERRY FUHRER

SUSAN GILLER
is an artist who loves many disciplines of art. Having devoted many years to figure drawing and clay sculpture, she feels a close connection with the importance of self discovery in art making. Her first professional job in art was as a tapestry weaver with Scheur Tapestry Studio in Manhattan. There she made corporate tapestries for IBM, RJR Nabisco, Lakewood Wineries as well as private collectors. In addition to teaching drawing and clay with the different schools in the area, she has worked with children and seniors on large scale mural installations. Susan shows her figurative clay sculpture at Goldesberry Gallery in Houston and participates in different shows in the area.

LINDA GOSSETT
taught for the Creative Arts Center for several years before relocating to west Texas in 2007. She now lives and creates art in San Angelo, where the west Texas landscape has a substantial impact on her work. A native Texan, Linda grew up predominately in El Paso and has supported herself with clay for twenty years producing corporate commissions, wholesale and retail work.

VALERY GUIGNON

CYNTHIA HALE
works in several media, but her passion is kiln formed glass. The organic nature and warmth of the materials and the technical precision of the process reflect her vision and her life. Her foundation in traditional materials and methods is primarily a product of independent study and underlies more formal training in glass techniques.

SHERRI WARNER HUNTER
is known for teaching sculpture, concrete, mosaic and professional practice workshops at her studio in Bell Buckle, Tennessee and around the country. She has authored two books on working with concrete - Making Concrete Garden Ornaments and Creative Concrete Ornaments for the Garden, both published by Lark Books. Her award winning artworks are included in numerous private and public collections.

MAUREEN KILLABY
picked up the pencil and painting as a hobby after receiving her law degree and quickly became obsessed with graphite. She is now a full-time teacher and artist. Maureen teaches graphite and colored pencil classes for adults and young people, believing in the importance of enriching young minds in the arts. She currently teaches art classes at Tyler Junior College of Continuing Studies. She teaches workshops in and around the state of Texas.

SONIA KING
is an internationally known mosaic artist. She is the author of Mosaic Techniques & Traditions, from Sterling Publishing, and is currently working on a book on advanced mosaics. She is a past president of the Society of American Mosaic Artists and a director of the Associazione Interniazionale Mosaicisti Contemporanei. She has been featured HGTV’s “Modern Masters”, HDTV’s “The Art of Living” and most recently in Modern Luxe.

KELLEY KNICKERBOCKER
is a Seattle artist whose works in numerous mediums for architectural clients, but in her work she returns again and again to glass mosaics. The visual depth and light-handling properties of glass, as well as its seemingly limitless palette of colors, offer up endless possibilities for dimensional shenanigans. Out of these explorations, Kelley has discovered three signature glass mosaic techniques: Texture Field, which utilizes multiple textures of clear architectural glass to create a field of textures; Flat Stacking, in which multiple layers of translucent glass are layered over a mirrored or clear glass substrate; and Edge Stacking, in which glass strips of varying heights are set on edge. Kelley's fine art mosaics have been accepted to national and international juried exhibitions, and many reside in private collections.

DAVE KRAMER
has moved from freelance illustration into the world of fine art and portraiture. He has received awards from the Dallas Society of Artists, Artist Magazine and New York Society of Illustrators. BONNY LEIBOWITZ
began creating early on, attending Temple University's Tyler College of Art. She began exhibiting her work in 1987 after moving to Dallas in 1979. Her one person shows include those in Dallas, Palm Springs, Chicago and Santa Fe. Bonny has been recognized for her art internationally through Israel bonds, traveling to Israel with Partnership 2000. Bonny has exhibited through NTBCA at IBM and is involved with art donations raising monies for Art and Advocacy. Bonny's work is included in Tim Phelan's 50 Contemporary Artists and is exhibited at Rising Gallery in Dallas. SUZANNE MORGAN
has loved all things fiber since she was very young. SUSAN TINKER O'NEAL
has worked in jewelry for more than 20 years and currently works from her home studio when she is not teaching art to students from DISD's Lang Middle School. She works in sterling silver and 14k gold designing earrings, pendants, rings and bracelets. She also teaches beading classes on a regular basis.

CAROL PEYRON
is a mixed-media self-taught artist with a passion for ephemera and beautiful penmanship. She is a member of IAMPETH, an organization devoted to keeping the rich heritage of American penmanship alive. She is also a member of the Dallas Metroplex Post Card Club. Inspired by the natural world, many of her collage and assemblage pieces have been created to draw attention to environmental concerns. Her work has shown in local galleries and has been featured in trade magazines.

LARRY PILE
is a self-taught wood/glass/metal artist working primarily in kiln-cast class. Known as the Kessler Craftsman, his work ranges from small jewelry pieces to large kiln-cast sculptural works and often feature metal inclusion, frit/enamel painting and unusual color/depth. Having started as a furniture maker and later incorporating glass and metal in his pieces, Larry brings a broad artistic vocabulary to his classes. Larry has pieces in various corporate and international collections, is represented in various Texas and New Mexico galleries and participates in 15-25 art shows and festivals a year. He’s a gifted glass worker, a talented teacher and a heck of a nice guy!

JAMIE PINK WEISBROD
is a Texas native teaching at the CAC. After working as a photographer's assistant for three years, she spent 15 years as a catalog photographer. She has studied with painter Bill Komodore, illustrators Al Kraavanger and Ray Mel Cornelius, and many mosaic instructors, including Sonia King, Katrina Doran, Dru Perez Tubens, Emma Biggs, Ellen Blakely, Ilana Shafir, Sherri Warner Hunter, Matteo Randi, Michelle Petno, Verdiano Marzi and Antonella Gallenda.

HELEN SCHENCK
has been a member of two international print societies, Southern Graphics Council and The Mid American Print Council for five years. Her work resides in five different permanent collections of three institutions: Drive By Press, SGC, MAPC. She has been in numerous shows in Illinois, Missouri, and the Texas. She has also attended workshops such as Frogman's Print workshop in South Dakota and Penland School of Arts and Crafts in North Carolina.

CAROLINE SHAW OMETZ
has taught art for 20 years. She won a scholarship to study at the internally known Vermont Studios and has been in juried shows locally and internationally, including the “After 9/11” touring exhibit. Caroline’s work can be found in private collections in the U.S., France and Germany.

BRAD FORD SMITH
is an artist, an art conservator and entrepreneur. He has exhibited his sculptures and works on paper at the Janette Kennedy Gallery, Mighty Fine Arts and Arts in the District. As the owner of Studio Six Art Conservation, Brad focuses on the conversation of historical objects, and has worked with the LBJ National Park, the Cattle Raiser's Museum and Dallas Heritage Village. He blogs about the creative process at the Dyslexic Ramblings of an Artistic Life and is a guest blogger on KERA's Art & Seek website. Currently, he is participating in the SculptCAD Rapid Artists project, which pushed him and 11 other artists into the world of 3D computer modeling and rapid prototyping. He volunteers time and artwork to nonprofits such as LaReunion TX and the Arthouse at Jones Center. He is an early graduate of the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts.

TERRI THOMAN
has over 30 years of experience in the field of printmaking. She has created workshops and lectures for local colleges and high schools and her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, most recently at the Texas Women’s Museum. MICHAEL TOLE
is a Dallas based painter who has shown professionally in Dallas, San Francisco and New York City. Awards won by the artist include the Hunting Art Prize of Houston, Texas and the Kimbrough Grant from the Dallas Museum of Art. Tole's work has been reviewed in Art Forum, the Dallas Morning News, the Houston Chronicle and the San Francisco Chronicle. Tole's opulent oil paintings combine traditional craft with modern technology, creating art that looks simultaneously Baroque and digital. Tole's approach to art education rests on two central pillars: his ability to differentiate lessons for each individual student and his ability to guide his students with a light hand. He strives to identify each student's individual goals and provide them with the knowledge and skill set they need to reach those goals.

ART WELLS
is an accomplished figurative sculptor who works in stone, clay and bronze. Although known for sculpting realistic figures, Art has recently devoted his attention to carving abstract pieces. In 2009 he won a national award from Sculptural Pursuit Magazine. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries and can be found in both public and private collections. He has been the featured instructor at 2sculpt workshops in Lawrence,KS since 2008.
