- What is the difference between the two prices listed for a class or workshop?
The full price is for non-members, and the discounted price is for CAC members.
- What are the benefits of a membership?
In addition to other benefits detailed on our Become a Member page, a membership entitles you to a $30 discount for all classes or workshops you take in the year after you sign up for membership. Your membership is completely tax-deductible.
- Do I have to purchase my own supplies for classes even though I paid a department materials fee?
The materials fee covers communal department expenses and varies with the class you take. Materials include easels, demonstration supplies used by the instructor, printed handouts, firing fees, gas for welding equipment and other various equipment supplies. You will still need to bring your own personal art supplies listed in your supply list or discussed the first day of class.
- Do I need to purchase supplies for a workshop?
Generally, all art supplies for workshops are provided. If you are asked to bring an item for the workshop, it will be detailed in the description online.
- What is the difference between Open Studio Time and Live Model Labs?
Open Studio Time is for students currently enrolled in those classes that offer it and are allowed 3 hours per week at scheduled times.
Live Model Lab is offered to the community on Sundays – Figure Drawing, 10:00am – 1:00pm and Figure Painting 1:30pm – 4:30pm. There is a facilitator but no formal instruction. You do not have to register or be a member to attend. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-member per session.
- Does CAC offer classes for kids?
No, we do not offer classes for children except through our outreach programming. We do, however, take students 15 and above with parental permission in our regular programming. For places in the community offering children’s programming click here.
- Does CAC open its glass or ceramics department to the public?
No, CAC fires only the work of our currently enrolled students.
- Do you offer any discounts?
Yes, we offer a discounted $35 yearly membership to students, teachers, veterans and seniors 55 and older. We also offer a 15% discount on class or workshops fees (department materials fee is not included) to qualified teachers, students and veterans.
- Do you offer any scholarships?
Yes, we have a limited number of class and workshop fee scholarships available for each session. For more information, visit CAC scholarships here.
- Do you accept materials or equipment donations?
